In the flashy world of Las Vegas, nothing is what is seems, as evidenced by surveillance team member Mike Cannon, played by veteran television actor James Lesure on NBC’s hit series “Las Vegas.” Borne and raised in Los Angeles, California, Lesure’s path to Hollywood began with a few unexpected turns. He served in the Air Force Academy before attending the University of Southern California where he received his bachelor of fine arts degree in theater.

During his time at USC, Lesure had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Kent in Canterbury, England. While there, he performed in the productions “Hair” and “The Island.” He also has worked in a professional theater company in Los Angeles, where he played the role of Macduff in Shakespeare’s great tragedy “Macbeth.”

Named one of the six hottest males on television, Lesure is perhaps best known for his role as Holly Robinson-Peete’s husband on the comedy series “For Your Love.” He recently appeared in recurring roles on “Alias” and “The Division.” His other television credits include guest-starring roles on “NYPD Blue,” “Mad About You,” “Half & Half,” “Martin” and “The Burning Zone.”

Lesure also appeared in the feature films “The Ring Two” and “Crimson Tide,” opposite Denzel Washington and Gene Hackman.
