vanessa marcil - Vegas cast love fest

With the cast of "Las Vegas" full of young Hollywood hotties, it could easily be like taking a trip down Ego Lane, but star Vanessa Marcil insists it's the most fun, down-to-earth set she's ever been on.

"If we ever stopped doing the show, we'd be so disappointed because we all love to hang out with each other," she claims. "All the girls are really cool. We all love each other, and are supportive of each other."

In fact, they are currently banding together to help their co-star Nikki Cox plan for her wedding with comedian Jay Mohr. "Now every day on set, it's all about the dress and the plans. It's great. It's like working with your family."

Despite the set's obvious girl power, Marcil certainly doesn't hesitate to toot the horn of her famous co-star Josh Duhamel. "I've never seen one second of ego in Josh. He is the most gracious lead character in a show I've ever seen," she gushes. "He doesn't have any of the negative connotations that come with being a male actor in Los Angeles. He's even-tempered and kind and funny."

She adds about his work ethic, "He really acts like a team player with the rest of us. He's always questioning his work and trying to make a scene better. When he gets upset about stuff, it always seem justifiable to me. He takes himself really seriously in the middle of the scene because he wants it to be good, but as soon as we're done, he SO does not take himself seriously. It's a nice combination."

Marcil says Josh's commitment to his character certainly makes it much more fun to play the ambitious Sam Marquez. "She has a huge ego, which I think is hilarious," she notes of her character. "She's all about achieving like a lot of men are. She wants to make it to the top and know that she did it on her own."

Don't expect Vanessa and Sam to have a lot in common. "She's much more ambitious than I am. I'm excited just that I have enough to eat, and that I have running water in my house. I'm satisfied with much less monetarily than she is."
