 Live Blog

Following the conclusion of the season four season finale, Gary and Molly held a live blog at NBC.com and answered questions from fans. Here's a transcript of the blog.

Will Danny and Sam hook up at some point?
Gary: I don't know if Danny and Sam will hook up because we haven't sat down to discuss it. Jimmy and Nikki's departure was probably shocking to us as much to the fans. But, I told every actor when we were shooting the pilot, if they wanted to move on, I would never hold them or keep them on the show. I did not know at the beginning of the season that Nikki would be moving on. Who knows? During the season finale four years down the line...there's always a possibility of a Danny and Mary hook-up.

What's with Evil Mr. Peterson
Gary: There's been a lot of chatter on the internet about the evil Mr. Peterson some how being involved in Casey's death. That is if he is, as some fans think, actually not dead. But, to be very honest with everyone, my objective with the season finale was to write the biggest cliffhanger in TV history.

Las Vegas Cross Over Episodes
Gary: Las Vegas is open to crossovers for any shows, because EVERYONE goes to Las Vegas. In our eyes, every character in the TV universe should go to Las Vegas, unless they are on another network!

Favorite Episode
Molly: I loved the season opener, deciding if I was going to marry Derek or be with Danny. Love the episode where I was kidnapped and buried alive. It was something different to do on Las Vegas that we haven't done before. This Christmas episode was fun, too. Of course, the season finale was so intense, because we didn't know what was going to happen.

How did Vanessa hold up during those brutal season finale box scenes?
Gary: Vanessa was an incredible trooper. She loved doing this episode. She loved the fact we went dark and loved being bound and gagged and being thrown into a trunk. It was hard to watch the episode. I didn't realize how dark it had become until I saw the final product.

DVD Commentary
Gary: We just finished season four commentary. Molly and I did two episodes, James did one episode and Vanessa and I did the season finale commentary. We have about 30 minutes of behind the scenes, and I did commentary on that. A little documentary of behind the scenes of Las Vegas.

Molly, do you get to keep the clothes you wear on the show?
Molly: The wardrobe belongs to the production. If GST sees something I have worn on the show in public, he makes me bring it back to the show.

Molly, what did you think of Delinda being pregnant?
Molly: I thought "Oh my gosh, Delinda is having a baby and what is Danny going to think?"

What's going to happen with Danny and Delinda?
Gary: We can't tell you what's in store for Danny and Delinda. You have to watch season 5.

Why were there only 17 episodes this season?
Gary: You'll have to ask the network why it was a shorter season.

Molly did you always want to be an actress?
Molly: I have always had a little of something inside of me that wanted to act. Through modeling, it gave me a wonderful opportunity to cross-over and take it serious. Now to be on Las Vegas, it feels incredible, it's so much fun and exciting! I still look around after four years, and I see the slate and the cameras and I think of how lucky I am to be on a network where ER, Friends and so many great shows have been. To be part of that, to be part of the ongoing saga of Las Vegas is so incredible.

Is the show filmed in Las Vegas?
Gary: The show is partly filmed in Vegas. I would say we shoot in a real casino, because we BUILT a real casino. It's real slot machines, real dealers and real chips.

Any advice to future actors and/or directors, writers?
Molly: Work hard, be serious, when one door shuts, one will open, or push it open.
Gary: Don't take no for an answer, work hard, take the craft seriously and be positive...always be positive. It only takes one person to say, yes. You'll have a million no's, but takes one yes.

Music in the Show & Favorite Guest Performers
Gary: The role of music is written into the show. All the writers, including myself, write the show with the song in mind, or multiple songs, if the case may be.
Molly: Some of my favorite acts have been Sugarland, Pussycat Dolls, Jewel. Those are my top three. They went so well with the episodes. They were in sequence with the show.
Gary: I wrote those acts into the show. I loved Sugarland! Everytime we have a musical act, we have our own concert.
Molly: Everybody from Wayne Newton, Los Lonely Boys.

TV or Film
Molly: I like TV and film. I think TV hits a larger audience overall. I love TV, it's nine to ten months out of a year. You live with the characters you watch. I also love film when it's done well.
Gary: Both are entirely different. It's like asking which one of your kids you like best. But, I love them both.

Danny and Delinda getting married?
Molly: I don't know. Maybe????

Kissing Josh
Molly: He's an amazing kisser, but not as good as Gary wink.gif
He's awesome, he's hot, he's humble. He's the perfect boy you want to kiss and you can't get in trouble for it.

Who will be the new owner?
Gary: Yes, I have given incredible thought who the next owner of the Montecito will be. I can't say. I will however, make suggestions on who the next owner should be. I will take suggestions, too.

Vegas Research
Gary: We go to Vegas numerous times throughout the years. To see the people and hear the stories. We have so many connections, whenever things get wild and crazy in Vegas, we get phone calls about it. As crazy as storylines get on the show, it's not half as crazy as Vegas really gets.

Next season?
Gary: Yes, I have given incredible thought who the next owner of the Montecito will be. I can't say. I will however, make suggestions on who the next owner should be. I will take suggestions, too.

Anything common with Delinda?
Molly: I have a lot of things in common with Delinda. I have a lot of things not in common, as well. I think she's much more open, sexier, and manipulative but she's definitely fun, cool and pretty like me. LOL.

Who plays the most jokes on set?
Molly: I was doing a sexy and romantic scene with Josh and he passed gas in front of me. He was spooning me and did it. That was fun.
Gary: Molly is too easy to play jokes on.
Molly: My nickname has been Kaboom??? You'll know why in 30 minutes. Wait, you now know why.

Will there ever be an online Spin-Off?
Gary: Interesting idea. I'll talk to the powers that be at NBC.

The Montecito Security Team
Gary: The security team always played a major vehicle for the show.

The Zone
Molly: Before I do a scene, I concentrate, listen to music. I try to be very clear and focused which sometime is hard for me. The modeling helped, because it makes you used to being in front of a camera. At the same time, modeling and acting is different because in acting, you have to show the camera insecurities and your flaws and what's going on. Not just what's on the outside.
Gary: She won't let me talk to her.

Switching Roles
Molly: I would play Sam. Because I would love to be mean.

Blowing up the casino
Gary: Actually, at the end of season 2, we blew up the casino and then at the end of season 4, but we didn't blow up the whole casino. The explosives came out the windows, but the reflection of the windows make it look much bigger. Now, I can't say more then that, because I would be giving away parts of season 5.

Sports Illustrated
Molly: As for shooting SI...that's an experience I will never forget. It was amazing to work with the magazine and such great photographers and to work on exotic locations. I stay in shape by doing yoga, pilates, but mainly yoga and I watch my diet, eat more protein then carbs.

Casino Owner Suggestions
Gary: Thanks for making the wonderful suggestions for who should own the casino next season. We will take all into consideration.

How about Sam and Delinda Going on a Road Trip next season?
Molly: That would be so much fun, I would probably kill her.
Gary: Where would they go and why? And who would come back alive?

The taping of the show
Molly: Log on to NBC.com and watch episodes online.
Gary: We don't tape our show like a sitcom. It takes 8 days to shoot. We have had contests to allow people to visit the set.

Who shot Mary's dad?
Gary: Regarding who shot Mary's father, the online poll suggests Ed. Yet, Danny and Mary had reasons to shoot him. Danny said he would kill him if he ever came close to Mary, again. But, hey, we will see how the voting continues, I might change my mind on who really did it.

Farewell
Gary and Molly: A big thank you from the both of us. Thanks for watching this season and we love that you guys loved the season finale. Look forward to seeing you at season 5, because it's going to be incredible. VIVA LAS VEGAS!
